A warm and compassionate space for you to feel, express, process & move through your emotions.
If you are living in a state of overwhelm, navigating big life transitions, or feeling disconnected from your body, know that you are not alone.
I believe that therapy should be as unique as you are. Each session is shaped with care to reflect the many dimensions of who you are, honoring a holistic, whole person perspective.
I have always felt drawn to understanding people’s inner worlds and creating spaces where others can feel seen, supported, and less alone. In 2010, I began teaching trauma-informed yoga in hospital and psychiatric settings. Breathwork and movement practices transformed my own life, and that curiosity grew into a deeper commitment to supporting emotional well-being through my clinical training as an LCSW.
My work integrates traditional talk therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). There is a stronger emphasis on mindfulness and somatic, body-based approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) when appropriate. I offer a comprehensive path toward healing that includes both insight and lived, felt experience.
I support teens and adults of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Many of the people I work with are navigating demanding careers or high pressure academic environments, often carrying burnout, perfectionism, or a strong inner critic. I also work with individuals who identify as highly sensitive or experience social anxiety, supporting them in cultivating a deeper sense of safety within themselves and in connection with others. I support clients in their relationships as well, whether that is dating, shifting friendships, or complex family dynamics.
Whether you are navigating a recent stressor or looking at long-standing patterns or addressing trauma, therapy offers an opportunity to gain a clearer sense of self and notice how that clarity ripples into other areas of your life.
Outside of my work, I feel most connected through time in nature, travel, and with people I love.
I am based in Brooklyn with an office in Greenpoint, and I am licensed to work with clients in New York, New Jersey, and California.
I invite you to connect with me for a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a fit.
Starting Therapy with Amanda? Here’s What to Expect:
-
Intake Call:
Your first step is a free consultation call, where we’ll meet virtually or by phone to get to know each other. You can share what’s bringing you to therapy, and I’ll explain how I work and what support might look like for you. This call is a chance to ask questions, clarify any concerns, and see if we feel like a good fit. There’s no pressure — just a conversation to help you feel seen and understood before deciding on next steps.
-
Intake Paperwork:
Before our first session, you’ll be asked to fill out intake forms. These will include consent forms, practice policies and questions about your current struggles, history, and goals. This helps me understand more of where you’re coming from so we can make the most of our time together.
-
Our First Session:
In your consultation session, I’ll ask about your relevant history, what brought you to therapy, and your goals for our work together, and review therapy procedures. We’ll take time to hear about what’s going well in your life or what brings you joy, alongside exploring challenges. We might also try a somatic approach, experiment with a new coping tool, or simply create a space for you to feel and express whatever emotions are present in the moment.
-
Collaborative Treatment Plan:
In our sessions, you can expect a welcoming, grounded space where we explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships while also connecting with your body and regulating your nervous system. I draw on somatic techniques, mindfulness practices, and other evidence-based tools to support your growth, and real-life integration, with your goals and pace guiding the work.
-
Your Questions Matter:
It’s important that you feel comfortable and informed, so feel free to ask any questions you have about the therapy process, confidentiality, or anything else on your mind - at any time during the therapeutic relationship. Remember, this is your space and your journey. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, an any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
-
My fee is $275 for a 50 minute therapy session.
I am an "out-of-network provider" and I do not participate with insurance carriers. If you have out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide you with a "superbill" receipt at the end of each month, that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
